Control & Instrumentation

Objective: To provide delegates with the necessary knowledge skills and safe working practices to enable them to safely undertake a range of electrical tasks in an industrial environment.

This course is aimed at practising electrical engineers who wish to understand the basics of Control & Instrumentation.

This is the first of 3 modules.

The course will allow practical exercises where students will connect and do measurements on current loops. This is an intensely practical course and only required theory will be taught. Compressed air will feature in this course so candidates must be safety conscious.

Course duration: 4 days

Pre-course requirements:

Delegates will need to have a basic understanding of electrical measuring devices/instruments

Course Content:

• Pressure theory and safety.

• Ohm's law

• Measurement of temperature using Thermocouples, RTDs and varistors.

• Measurement of pressure using Differential and Gauge pressure sensors

•4-20 m.a. current loops, components, operation and fault finding.

• Flow measurement using DP cells, Turbine, Mag Flowmeters and Vortex Flow Meters

This is an introduction and a pre-requisite course to help delegates move forward with learning and knowledge building in the Electrical Engineering areas,

ALL COURSE NOTES/WORK FOLDER AND
REFERENCE MATERIAL ARE PROVIDED ON OUR PROGRAMMES. *Unless otherwise stated
