Option 1:

Classroom based Course

This package includes a full day of  classroom theory, as well as a day on site for hands-on practical work and assessment.

Option 2:

E-Portfolio

This option includes one site visit for the practical work and assessment plus up to 6 months E-Portfolio and Tutor support

Price: £950 + VAT per delegate

Please note: Sites are to be arranged by the client with suitable access to a working lift that meets current safety standards.

    Additional site visits requested by the client are  charged at £450 +VAT

For all Qualifications:

Working safely in an engineering environment.

Learner performance to be assessed and evidenced:

  1. Comply with their duties and obligations as defined in the Health & Safety at Work (etc...) Act (HASAWA)
  2. Demonstrate their understanding of their duties and obligations to Health & Safety
  3. Apply safe working practices and procedures at all times
  4. Apply safe working practices in an engineering environment
  5. Follow organisational accident and emergency procedures
  6. Comply with all emergency requirements
  7. Recognise and control hazards in the workplace to minimise risks
  8. Identify the hazards and risks that are associated with working environment tools and equipment, materials, substances and working practices.
  9. Use correct manual lifting and carrying techniques
  10. Demonstrate methods of manual lifting and carrying techniques

Plus at least one of the following:

EOR/202N - Basic Lift Safety

11. Safely operate lifts taking into account all safety precautions/practices and following established procedures:

  1. Safely gain access to lift areas
  2. Carry out safe operation of lifts
  3. Carry out safe release of trapped passengers through he doors as applied to lift equipment.

EOR/203N - Basic Stairlift Safety

11. Safely operate stairlifts taking into account all safety precautions/practices and following established procedures:

  1. Safely gain access to workplace and equipment areas
  2. Carry out safe operation of stairlifts

EOR/204N - Basic Escalator Safety

11. Safely operate escalators taking into account all safety precautions/practices and following established procedures:

  1. Safely gain access to escalator and moving walkway areas
  2. Carry out safe operation of escalators

EOR/205N - Basic Service Lift Safety

11. Safely operate service lifts taking into account all safety precautions/practices and following established procedures:

  1. Remove service lift from normal service to gain access to lift areas
  2. Access to service lift areas e.g. machine compartment, car tops, pits
  3. Manually operate service lift

EOR/202N - Basic Platform Lift Safety

11. Safely operate lifting platforms taking into account all safety precautions/practices and following established procedures:

  1. Safely gain access to workplace and equipment
  2. Carry out safe operation of platform lifts
  3. Manually operate platform lift equipment
