T.E.L. are looking for someone to join their team and complete a Level 3 Machining Technician Apprenticeship.
T.E.L. have been trading since 1975, during which has specialised in the design and manufacture of electro-mechanical machinery. We pioneered the first flameproof electrical slip ring unit for pedestal cranes in oil and gas exploration.
They have an extensive workshop and assembly bays with handling capacity up to 3 tonnes. Their site includes an 1,550m2 workshop enabling them to have the capacity to carry out larger projects effectively.
Their precision engineering capability and capacity to handle large components ensures that we meet the demands of modern mechanical engineering.
In order to continue this innovation and commitment, they feel it is important to develop existing staff and employ and train new staff to invest in the future sustainable development of the company.
Their average length of service is 13 years, with 1 in 3 staff who have been here for more than 20 years! We have an apprenticeship scheme, covering a range of courses, to work alongside long-service staff and use their skills and knowledge to help develop their future careers.

Outcome Description
The successful applicant will attend Elevated Knowledge in Stockport for their training to Level 3 Machine Technician Standard.
Apprenticeship Training will involve preparing for the role and achieving the required standard of competence for: Broad Purpose of the Role · Produce complex and precision components using conventional or CNC machine tools. · Machine components from metal or specialist materials. · Interpret technical information and plan machining activities. · Set up, operate, and adjust machine tool settings. · Produce, prove, and validate CNC programs where applicable. · Inspect components and machinery, reporting issues as required. · Support continuous improvement activities within the workplace. · Operate in a manufacturing environment.
Workplace Interactions · Collaborate with other Machining Technicians. · Interact with various stakeholders, including: · Engineering or manufacturing team leaders (as part of a defined or cross-functional team). · Customers, suppliers, and colleagues. · Quality auditors and regulators.
Responsibilities · Ensure the quality and accuracy of work produced. · Work efficiently and productively, both independently and as part of a team. · Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. · Use appropriate protective clothing and equipment. · Maintain correct use and housekeeping of machinery, tools, and equipment. |
