Lisa Harris – Sales & Recruitment Manager

Lisa Harris

Sales & Recruitment Manager at Elevated Knowledge

With 13 years of experience across recruitment, customer engagement, and business development, Lisa plays a pivotal role in helping learners take their very first steps into engineering careers. Her background spans over 25 years within the NHS, construction, and manufacturing, with a  range of roles including receptionist, front of house, administrator, and business development — all of which shaped her people-first approach.

After relocating from the North East, Lisa was working in the NHS when someone recognised her strengths and encouraged her to apply for a role at the training centre, a moment that set her on a new and very rewarding path. Since then, she has become a driving force behind apprenticeship recruitment, employer engagement, and learner onboarding at Elevated Knowledge.

Lisa holds a Certificate of Higher Education from Durham University and the NEBOSH National General Certificate. Her specialist strengths lie in customer relations and being a natural “solution finder,” always focused on matching the right training solution for a company or the right learner with the right opportunity.

What Lisa enjoys most about her role is telling an applicant they’ve secured an apprenticeship. Hearing the excitement and happiness never gets old. She also loves watching apprentices settle into their placements, grow in confidence, and build long-term careers. Her approach is patient, kind, helpful, and direct — always supportive, but honest.

Lisa is also involved in the events the apprentices take part in annually including things like, the Santa Dash, Krazy Races and Safe Drive Stay Alive. She feels that the events (especially the sponsored events) give a good community spirit element to every Apprentice and loves the community projects that the Apprentices get involved with such as the Tommy Memorial disc on Portwood Roundabout in Stockport amongst many other memorials for our armed forces.

Lisa hopes that every learner, whether on an apprenticeship or a commercial skills course, enjoys their time at Elevated Knowledge and leaves with positive memories — and ideally a desire to return (which many do, even decades later).

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, her Staffordshire Bull Terrier Samson, decorating, crafting, and travelling. She also enjoys scuba diving on holiday and has even swum with sand tiger sharks, blacktip sharks, and nurse sharks at the Blue Planet Aquarium — not for the faint-hearted!

Lisa is immensely proud of her family and is motivated at work by knowing that Elevated Knowledge delivers outstanding engineering training. With skills shortages growing, she is passionate about helping the next generation of engineers get started and supported properly from day one.

Lisa’s advice for new learners:

“Just complete the form — what’s the worst that could happen? You don’t need to know everything to start, you just need the courage to begin.”
