This course is aimed at practising electrical engineers who wish to understand the basics of Control & Instrumentation.

This Control & Instrumentation (Module 2) course is aimed at practising electrical engineers who wish to understand the basics of Control & Instrumentation.
PLEASE NOTE
This is the second of 3 modules.
The course will allow practical exercises where students will connect and do measurements on current loops.
This is an intensely practical course and only required theory will be taught.
Compress air will feature in this course so candidates must be safety conscious.

- Compressors and air lines
- Bellows and diaphragms
- 3-15 p.s.i. and 4-20 signal types, conversions between
- Components of control valves, varying seat types
- Feedback and linearisation
- Intelligent Valves
- Motor Speed Control using 4-20 m.a. signals and VFDs
- Fault finding using elements of module 1 and 2
This is an introduction and a pre-requisite course to help delegates move forward with learning and knowledge building in the Process Engineering areas.

Assessment
The assessment process in the Control & Instrumentation Course (module 2) is based on attendence and by completing the practical work required in the couse. Upon successfully completion of the course will result in the issue of an Elevated Knowledge certificate of completion.
